Judy Baker currently manages distance learning at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, CA as the Dean of Foothill Global Access.
Formerly, she served as Executive Dean of the Virtual College in the Open Campus at Florida Community College at Jacksonville (FCCJ) where she managed the delivery of online courses and the call center. From 2001 - 2004, she was Dean of Online, Library and Technology Services at San Diego Miramar College, she was responsible for faculty development, staff supervision, and budget management in the area of innovations in instructional technologies as well as the District's award-winning distance learning program.
At Texas Woman's University from 1987 - 1999, Dr. Baker served as a professor, interim department chair, graduate program coordinator, undergraduate program coordinator, grant director, search committee chair, grant writer, research investigator, and graduate research supervisor, in addition to teaching a variety of graduate and undergraduate health sciences courses. She has taught a variety of community health courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels via distance and on-campus delivery.
Dr. Baker earned her Ph.D. in community health from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987. She received a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1980 and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William and Mary in 1978. She has authored 20 publications and conducted dozens of presentations at national and state conferences on topics pertaining to distance and health education.
