Events Calendar and Enrollment

 

In Person @ Foothill—Summer 2008

 

  • Take the trainings in any order your schedule permits
  • Bring your course objectives for the class you will teach and use the training time to build real content for your course to use after you're certified
  • Gain access to a host of online resources and your own practice site for the duration of the training days
  • For those who take all four sessions in order, you can have your certificate at the end of the last session and request your site immediately.
    • 101A covers ETUDES overview and the module tool
    • 101B covers ETUDES overview and communication tools: Announcements, Discussion/private message, and Chat
    • 101C covers ETUDES overview, Assignments, Test Center, and Gradebook
    • 101D covers ETUDES overview, Important Extras

Migrating from Assignments to Tasks, Tests & Surveys. Use the workshop time to migrate your assignments into the new tool and get your questions answered about how to use a pool to generate assignments. We’ll also review the grading options from within TTS.

Start with an overview of the Etudes software, including system requirements and hardware and software recommendations. Find out what resources are available to certified instructors. We’ll begin with the Home page and move to the Module tool. You’ll start using your practice site to create content for your planned course.

A short review of the system requirements will be followed by a quick review quiz on the content of Session 101A. Then we’ll take a tour through the communication tools in Etudes. Discussion and Private Messages, Chat, and Announcements are just some of the ways you’ll connect with your Etudes students. With the practice site, you’ll experience these as both student and instructor.

A short review of system requirements will be followed by a quick quiz on 101B content. Then onto assessment tools in Etudes and a look at the Tasks, Tests & Surveys tool (TTS), as well as the Gradebook. With a thorough introduction to pools and the creation and publication of assessments in TTS you’ll be ready to apply the assignments that tell students how well they are learning, and automate much of the grading procedure.

Etudes  Certification 101D

After a short review of system requirement, and the requisite quiz on 101C, we’ll dive into extended features of Etudes. Explore and try the Syllabus, Schedule, Resources, Site Info, and customization options that make Etudes the power tool you need for effective course delivery. We’ll also take time to look at what you’ve accomplished in the practice site and review the procedure for migrating content into your actual courses later on. Everyone completing all four sessions will receive their certificate at this session.
